Statement of Faith

We believe:

  1. That the Bible is the sole, inspired, only infallible, authoritative Word of God, inerrant in the original manuscripts. We believe the inerrancy of Scripture embraces not only religious truth, but also the Bible’s scientific, historical, and literary features (2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:21). The Holy Scriptures reveal God’s relationship with mankind, which is climaxed in God’s redemptive act in and through Christ’s death and resurrection. Through His Holy Word, God still speaks and continues to accomplish His redemptive purpose.

  2. That there is but one God, who eternally exists in three persons, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit and who in holy love created, sustains, and orders all (Gen. 1:1; Matt. 28:19; John 10:30).

  3. That God the Father, an infinite personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men and women, hears and answers prayers, and saves from sin and death all who come to him through Jesus Christ (Jn 4:24; Is 6:3; Eph 1:3-7; I Jn 4:8; Mt 6:9; Dan. 4:34-35; I Tim 2:1-2).

  4. That Jesus Christ is true God and true man having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross and shed his blood as a sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and is at the right hand of God the Father. He is the believer’s Advocate and reigns as Lord of the Church and of all life (Jn 1:1, 14; Is 7:14; Rm 3:24-26; I Tim 3:16, I Cor 15:20-22; I Tim 2:5; Eph 1:20-22).

  5. That the Holy Spirit is at work in the hearts and minds of believers to glorify Jesus Christ, to convict mankind, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service. Further, He gives guidance and comfort, and unites believers with their Lord and with one another (Jn 14:25-27, 15:26, 16:7-15; Ac 1:8; 4:31; I Cor 2:13, 6:19; Eph 1:13, 4:30).

  6. That mankind was created in the image of God but fell into sin and is therefore lost, but that the gospel is the Good News that God was in Christ reconciling the world unto Himself. Only through faith in Jesus Christ and regeneration by the Holy Spirit can salvation and spiritual life be obtained (John 3:16-19, 5:24, Romans 3:23, 5:8-9, Ephesians 2:8- 10, Titus 3:5).

  7. That the Church is composed of all such persons who through saving faith in Jesus Christ have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit. As the body of Christ, the Church is under the Lord’s mandate to be faithful in proclaiming the gospel and making disciples by word and deed (Matt. 16:18; Eph. 4:4-6; 5:25; Isa. 44:22; John 3:16; Acts 16:31; Eph. 2:8-9; Matt. 28:16-20; Acts 1:8).

  8. That all believers are responsible for the total ministry of the Church which is the proclamation of the gospel for all people and the discipleship of believers in the Christian faith and life (Matt. 28:16-20; Acts 1:8).

  9. In the future, bodily, and personal return of our Lord Jesus Christ (Jn 14:1-3; Rev 1:7; Heb 9:28).

  10. That all dead will be resurrected; of the believer to everlasting blessedness and joy with the Lord and of the unbeliever to judgment and everlasting punishment (I Thess. 4:13-18; Rev. 20:11-15).

  11. That the term marriage has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and one woman in a single, exclusive union, as delineated in Scripture (Gen. 2:18-25).

  12. That God intends sexual intimacy to occur only between a man and a woman who are married (I Cor. 6:18; 7:2-5; Hebrews 13:4).

  13. That God wonderfully foreordained and immutably created each person as either male or female in conformity with his/her biological sex. These two distinct yet complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God (Gen. 1:26-27).

  14. That God wonderfully foreordained and immutably created each person as either male or female in conformity with their biological with their biological sex. These two distinct yet complementary genders together reflect the image and nature of God. (Gen. 1:26-27)
